Brake Dust Shields
My g/f's cuz took the front dust shields off of the front susp. on his hatch and swears the brakes bite better---i have the night free so i'm thinking of taking mine off--is it worth it?-i mean honda must have put em' there for a reason.
the dust sheilds are there for dust and to keep small objects out of your rotors. you get a little more cooling with the dust sheilds removed, but i don't think the braking power would be alot greater.
the sheild also prevents water from getting splashed onto the rotor...water on the rotor can cause your brakes to slip until they dry (hazardous)....and if your rotors are hot, and get splashed, they will warp instantly.
gotta add this:

can u explain why it's a
If you want people to take u seriously u will first have to communicate properly.

i dont think this is true.. once you depress the pedal the pads will squeeze all the water out almost instantaniously(sp) disc brakes are not subject to water fade as older drum brake systems are
