H22 Daily Driven Integra (Anyone)
Wondering if anyone out there is running a H22 in there teg. I am sure that someone out there is. How are you liking it, and what problems have you ran into if any under the hood. My friend broke his axle, and I also hear of some people having tranns probelms. Any insight form anyone would be great.
Some girl I know has a SSB DC2 w/ JDM H22A and JDM tranny. She bought it that way and its hella tight but shes had some trouble with the car. Her alternator just went, she had to get a new tranny recently too b/c her 3rd gear decided to leave on vacation. Um yea, but it was quick, actually, really quick. And of course it doest have a/c. Lots of small things go wrong. Oh and when you start the car up the dash vibrates sort of alot.

if you want reliable power why not just get type-r engine swap?

But you lose A/C, etc.
call me ignorant but what the hell is a DC4?
3rd gen. integra RS/LS/GS/SE hatch
DC2= Integra 2-door Hatchback
DC4= Integra 4-door w/ trunk
h22 in a teg is sweet, don't worry about all the bullshit you here about "oh it doesn't handle right" and "oh its a pain in the *** to swap" tha is all garbage, c5 is hella expensive and it is not as fast, plus you get an *** load more torque from the h22!
Hit me up on PM if you have more questions!

If your gonna spend that much money on a damn h22a swap, you should just invest your money into making your current engine faster with forced induction (I.E vortech supercharger) or something of that nature. If your teggy is an LS engine.. I would spend on getting at least an B18c series. H22a just seem to have alot of problems with the lightweight teggy, and plus its not a smooth ride at all, unless you just want to use it for the strip. The swaps that seem to be very nice on teggys are the B20b frankenstein swap. You should check into that.

Turbo is the way to go.
sell you ls motor for $1000, use the $1000 and $2000 of your money and get the h22a, much more reliable than going turbo if you dont know what your doing.just stock format with no mods should make you a little faster than the itr in the 1/4. I think thats pretty good for stock motor thats reliable.
the guy i listed in my last post does the swap for $1500+ parts, so if you can get an H22 clip for $2200, mounts $600 + $1500 youre looking at $4300, less than the cost of a C5 clip by itself
and whoever said it would make you slightly faster than a stock TypeR 1/4, i think it would make you A LOT faster i think the stocl ITR runs a high 14 a integra should run mid to low 13's depending on the setup but all motor with simple bolt ons like intake header hi flow and cat back should net mid 13's atleast, the total hp to the wheels might be the same but the torque on the H22 is light years beyond any B motor even a B20
so what if you lose ac and ps woopee doo

well the Prelude which is almost 600lbs heavier than a integra runs a high 14 right? or a low 15? jeff's hatch ran a 13.xx when he was all motor and now 10.xx on slicks
i would think with simple bolt ons like i said before, keeping in mind that the bolted on factory parts of an H22 are more restrictive than a B, meaning that i/c/h/e on an H22 will net more power improvement than on a b18
with that being said unless someone KNOWS otherwise and with the right driver and tires a 94+ Integra with an H22 with the above bolt ons should run 13.xx
as far as being cheaper its hard to say, if u have someone do the labor it would cost me about $2200 for the labor and mounts on the swap and about $2900 for the motor and to have it shipped to me so ur already over $5K just for your motor whereas if you already have a B18 and you build it up and turbo it you could probably get similar if not slightly better numbers than an all motor H22 for obviously less money, its all about the kind of ride you want
if you have a car with a blown or missing motor then instead of putting another B in i would get an H22, when my turbo motor goes BOOM i will probably replace it with an H22
