Clutchmasters Stage III or IV ???
I'm getting a Stage 3 Clutchmasters clutch w/ lightened flywheel.
Just browsing their website, I realized the Stage 5 is actually 100$ US cheaper, and has a way greater holding capacity (200% - 400% over stock).
I plan on driving the car on the steets once in a while, but its main purpose will be a track car. So someone tell me .... why am I not going with the Stage V rather than the Stage III ?
Is the Stage IV basically a (on or off) clutch? Is there absolutely no play? That would mean I either chirp everytime I take off, or stall the car, no? And I'm guessing that would be hard on the axles?

I have driven a new clutchmasters stage 3 and lightened flywheel I did not think it was that great. I would go with a beafier one than that, especially if its more of a track car. What kind of #'s are you putting down?
I have a CM's Stg 4 that I daily drive. It's only been in for about 3-4 weeks and I really like it. As I said earlier, I daily drive it. There is somewhat of and off and on point but nothing drastic, you get used to it and can find where you have play. The only time that the on/off point is any trouble is when going from a stop and I really wouldn't even consider that bad- you get used to it realllly quick trust me
I finally finished breaking it in and when you get on it and shift, it's bad ***
I also think that after I got on it and shifted hard a couple of times, the clutch felt a lot better for normal driving.

my stage 3 is nice but i dont have anything to compare it to besides a stock clutch
but the stage 3 is pretty close to stock (meaning pedal pressure)

I have a CM stg 4 sitting right next to me... Has anyone ever heard of the rivots that hold the friction pads in place chewing up the flywheel?
There doesnt seem to be that deep of an inlay to allow any drastic wear on the pads... Hope that makes sense, i'll post a pic if it doesn't...

I will get in touch with the shop that is doing the work on my car, a good bud of mine told me it will be very stressful on the engine, but I guess I'll see what my guy thinks about that.
Anymore tips are strongly appreciated!
Thanks guys!

I know that getting a clutch rated for way more power than you are producing can be harmful and counter-productive.
