ok , my friend put a a6 in to his std, and converted to dpfi to save time, right now it wont start, what im thinking is that the cam timing is off from the dizzy.??? could this be??? any input would be great thanks a lot
We need a bit more info..
"converted to dpfi to save time"
So he put the A6 in his STD, and left it DPFI correct? or did you guys wire up the MPFI setup?
Which ECU are you guys using? You have to use the STD Ecu to fire the DPFI system.
Also, what is going on? are you getting spark? how about fuel?
Timing?, did he try changing the timing belt? the Distributor only goes one way on the camshat.

the timing belt was not touched, he is using the dx dizzy
, i was thinking that maybe one of the two white wires is not right but i dont know
the engine ran before he got it , then he put dpfi stuff on and now it doesnt start,

when he bought the car(std) it had no engine, he got a a6 engine and trans that worked for cheap, didnt want to do the wiring for mpfi yet so he put dpfi on it. intake, dizzy, etc, std ecu . so i dont know, the dizzy he has had no plug on it so he had to splice it in, i didnt do any of the work to his car. so i dont know if his wire job is right. so yeah i dont think its the cam timing because it was never touched.........

well this is just a double checker and most likely not the problem, but check that stupid ground over on the thermostat. I know the car wont start without it, and its easy and simple to check.
good luck

Also, make sure them "splices" are soddered and not ghetto connected. I dont know if it makes that much of a difference, but it couldn't be too good if its just the old" splice, twist, and wrap with tape
