Default 5 lug conversion: Should I get camber kit with it?

Should I get a camber kit with the 5 lug conversion? I only plan to lower my car .75 inches, but was wondering if the 5 lug conversion would throw off the camber. Thanks!

only get a camber kit if you want to be able to dial in your suspension. if you go to the track (not drag) you willl want to have more - camber. It provides more grip

otherwise for street, if you are worried about excess tire wear, it wont help

Get a camber kit regardless. The rears are only approx $120/pair.

Yup, from what I hear, when you remove the rear trailing arm, you mess your alignment and camber up. I assume that's what you have to do when doing a 5-lug swap. Plus, no camber means every piece of the tire touches the road which = grip.

yes when the car is static or going in a straight line a 0 deg. car will have more grip.

how does the removal of a rear trailing arm affect camber?

Removing the trailing arm may mess up the camber, but can't you just fix it when you put it back on without a camber kit? I only want a camber kit if a 5 lug conversion would change the camber even further over the .75 lowering. I'll be using my stock trailing arms for the 5 lug conversion.

In other words, if I did the 5 lug conversion and didn't lower the car, would camber be changed? I wouldn't think so, since my car would still the stock height, but correct me if I'm wrong. I'm especially interested in hearing from people whom already did the 5 lug conversion.

don't waste 120 dollars.

you DO NOT need a camber kit for that.

if the camber is messed up in the rear... it CAN be adjusted enought to get it straight again.

you won't need a camber kit till you drop more that 1.75-2.0 inches

I haven't installed my 5 lug conversion yet, but I heard that the OE trailing arm from an EK would work fine. At least that is the response I got when I posted here:

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=335011

I could buy the ITR trailing arms for $75 extra from the same guy that sold me the 5 lug conversion, but if they are the same, I figure why bother. But let me know if I made a mistake and should buy the ITR arms and why.

Also, how much did you lower your car and did you get a camber kit? Did the 5 lug conversion throw off the camber even more?

Trust me, get a camber kit. I did my 5-lug swap mayself, and you will need one in order to get the proper camber for both front and rear, I stuck with the stock camber that came from the Honda factory for the Type-R, any alignment shop should have these camber values entered in the computer at the alignment shop rack.

i don't know...here's what i think.
the caliper spacing should be different for the 5 lug rotor.
maybe some minimal line brackets...you could try it though.

the 5 lug kit didn't throw my camber to the best of my knowledge, the car is lowered approx 2.5-3 inches and runs -1.8 front camber and -1.5 rear.
make sure you run proper toe and have the caster checked if you run that negative though. with a .75" drop you should not go out more than 1 degree which is still within honda spec for that car.

you guys are confusing the poor guy... "buy a camber kit" .... "dont buy a camber kit".... i'm getting confused too....

ok say i got my lug on (my ek,em)and i need to get it aligned (without a camber kit) what specs do i tell them to align it with? Type R specs or stock EK,EM specs?

TIA

they're most likely close to the same specs.
they will align it to stock ek spec though.
as default....either one will give you nominal difference on the street.
