why do they tape up the lights when you autocross

 

haha not only did u know one of them, you knew just about all of them

 

Maybe if they "bump" each other and the lights break, the glass doesn't go flyin' everywhere... It's all stuck to the tape...
Otherwise, I'd say they do it to copy all the cool racer guys in Japan who tape up their lights when racing/drifting...

 

what sideskirts are those?? and about the tape question i think they do that to kinda protect the headlights from busting from and debris flying around while racing..thats just my guess though..

That looks like a HPDE, not an autocross. So if a rock (or wall) hits your lights you don't throw little pieces of glass everywhere.

I'd be pissed if a piece of glass cut my 150-$250 DOT-Rs -- even madder if I hit a wall/tree afterwards.

 

Clears just don't look too hot an a yellow R eh?

tape on the light to protect from debris?...umm no..I'm not buying that....city roads and highways have more debris than the tracks....and they also tape the tails too...

anyone? I'm really curious..

For real, the tape on the lights prevent the glass from going on the track.

Nope, only the front glass on the car, some people put tape on the mirrors to prevent chips but those people are rather rare.

ok guys put your crack pipes down for a minute and look at the pics. Somebody used ms paint or some other "photoshopping" to ***** up the pics...look at the gray windshield banner on the PY ITR...who ever did that is very wrong for it.
