So the beast wouldnt start today. she has been garaged for about a month now. i didnt arm my alarm because i feared it would kill the battery. so for the first time today i went and checked on her, checked her oil, then went to turn it over. nothing, dead. dash lights came on etc, but no crank nothing.

what could cause my battery to drain? i thought about disconnecting my battery over the winter, but i didnt think i would need to. is it normal for the battery to just drain like this? i understand i have quite a few electronics running through her (VAFC, TT, AVCR etc)


any ideas? im gonna go jump her later and see whats wrong.

any tips for winter storage? should i just completely remove the battary

 

How old is the battery? It's good to have a trickle charger on it if it is not going to be used for that long.

 

Disconnect the neg battery cable so you don't waste any juice, because even though nothing "on" there still is going to be a small drain on your battery, and yes it is enough to drain it after a month for you not to be able to start your car.

yes. ive left my previous car sitting for a month and a half and the battery was dead. after awhile, i think the battery just drains out... ya know, like electrical components holding memory and all that mumbo jumbo. i heard batteries tend to go weak and not hold a charge if left without proper charging for long periods of time.
