Default Type-R Coming

I just got off the phone with my local Acura dealer (Frankel Acura in Maryland) and they said that the RSX Type-R is definately coming but they are not sure if it will be late April or early May. They also said they were not sure about the production numbers yet. Has anyone else talked to the local Acura dealer and gotten a simular response.

are you really sure you'd want it ....it wont be any different than the AUSSIE Dc5-r ....and they usually get more goodies than we do ....

the only reaosn i'd still buy a USDM DC5r if it ever comes out ...is due to the fact it will be lighter ....no sunroof ...LSD ....

it'll still will need JDM gears ....and greatly need to be lowered ....

but i'd still never get rid rid of my DC2-R over it

Well hopefully if it does coe it won't be watered down. But the Aussie verson only gets the Type-S motor so at least we would have slightly better motor.

Not be harsh, but just try to call another dealership and see if they say the same thing.... or even talk to another salesperson in the same dealership, I am not surprised if you get a different answer.

Personally I would love to see the dc5r make it here. I am honestly very interested to see how it performs compare to the dc2r. (well, nevertheless, I expect another watered down version like the one we have with the dc2)

well even a watered down version of the DC5R will out perform a USDM DC2R ...really the only thing the current type S lacks is LSD ....better tires , and suspension ....and it has too much weight ....

omg stop the hype already until the damn thing comes out here. i heard, he heard, she heard, the dealer said...

a month after I bought my 02, the dealer asked what year my car RSX was when I went to get a filter for it. WTF, it's been out for 4 months and the dealer is asking me what year it is! goes to show how reputable dealers are. dealers are less knowledgable about the cars they sell than most of us here. they sell them, they dont' drive them, and they aren't interested in them like we are. dealers are legal thieves. they try to screw you any chance they get and they try to help you as little as possible once you give them tens of thousands of dollars.

Okay now I'm in a confused situation, in which excitement rises, when I hear that is coming, but then 3 people turn around and say it's not, which it goes down. But all I know is $30,000 for importing a dc5-r from japan, but on a site I saw, their hoping to bring the dc5-r in spring 2003, but then agian, the NO part of the "are they bringing it" is way more then the YES. But yea I would want one in Black if I were to get it.

If there are any emissions issues, they would be minor and easy to remedy. I don't think that's the holdup.

I will believe that the DC5-R is coming as soon as Honda issues an official press release.

BOTTOM LINE - MAGAZINES KNOW MORE THAN THE DEALERS. dont listen to jack shyt of what the dealers say, unless you know the dealer is a performance oriented dealer that is looking forward to the DC5-R and they are getting real inside info like the magazines say. IF the tyepR is coming, IT will be in the magazines, dont worry
