Default the motor did not like one of the spark plugs?!?

I was a stop light on sat morning waitign for the green and sipping on the starbucks, as soon the as light turned green I stepped on the gas and I heard a cluncking sound, then the car ran like ****. No power, puttering and sounded like I had an exhaust leak. pulled over on the highway popped the hood, everything looked fine, decided to get out of the hightway, too much traffic/narrow shoulder, drove it to the 7-eleven then popped the hood again. when I went to check the spark plugs, #4 was loose, after I pulled it out I noticed the elctrode was hitting the spark plug(not sure if that is what the finger is called) so I say the piston hit the spark plug. I cannot put the plug back in, my guess is the threads are striiped, but the spark plug looks fine otherwise.

Any comments?

How could this have happened? The car has been running strong up until that.

Oh yeah, this is a 88 CRX Si

well u got a D16A6...
that engine has a compression ratio of 9:1.1
theres no way in hell the piston might hit the spark plug.. even if a rod breaks, it will hit the head way before the spark plug...
sounds more like ur spark plug might have gotten too hot and weak and bended with the heat,,,,, thats a very xtreme circumstance wich its very hard to happen...
anyways .... sounds more like the thread jsut let go ,... spark plugs went out of place and once it came back down. it hit the lil hole where it goes and bend the electrode thingy.. theres another topic about stripped spark plugs a few days back... cant remember how to fix it... but make sure first that the head isnt striped.. if it is , then u gotta take it to a machine shop...
