I bought a 745i3 from crutchfield, it has worked perfectly. I wouldn't consider it the most advanced, but it has all the features I looked for. One big piece of advice would be to check out the interconnect harnesses. The interconnect harness plugs into the stock harnesses and makes the install completely reversible.

To The Top!

Anyone care to comment on the 6 alarms Crutchfield carries now:

http://www.crutchfield.com/S-7...alarm

The brands are CrimeGuard and Crimestopper

A local shop (Python 460HP / Alpine SEC-150R) and Circuit City (Viper 600ESP) both want $500 for:
--keyless entry (actuators needed)
--2nd siren
--back-up battery
--proximity sensor
--hood pin switch
--brain mounted high in the dash is what they both told me

no personal experiences with them but it's worth a try. either way you'll have your car stolen by a $200 alarm or stolen by $500 one. best defense is multiple layers of securities.

Has anyone ever heard of an alarm that "plugs" right in to your existing wiring or harness? A guy at work was saying that the alarms from Crutchfield connect to your existing wiring in the car without and cutting of wires. He said the alarm plugs right in. I've never heard of such a thing, but really don't know anything about alarms.

Get a Crimestopper they are the best, i got jack with one, best investment ever, it lost over 3k due to a 200 cheap alarm, go all out when it goes to keeping your car safe.
