A friend might be able to let me go to Bondaraunt for FREE!! Which mean, I get my racing lisence for Free. WEEE....
So..I've decided to keep my 94 delsol Si and do an engine swap.
So now my problem is figuring out which engine I want to swap into my delsol.
I am going to participate in SCCA events after I get my RL, but until then I ahve 5k to play with.
What should I swap?

****Im going to do all the work myself, so I can save 2k right off or I can put it all into the motor***

 

if you are going to be doing road racing I would go with a b16a engine and move the rest for suspension.. or just do all suspension/rims/tires setup and then see what you have left after that..do not forget on a road course the b16a is competitive since it makes good power and the gearing is perfect...goodluck you may want to ask the boys in the roadracing/autox forum.. as there are junkies =P
oh yeah do not forget Brakes.. youll be suprised just how quick your stock setup can be inadequte at times

What kinda Racing org. Are you looking to be racing in?

Scca, Nasa, etc...?

Since when could you be Licensed With a trip to Bob Bondaraunt Racing School?

Also a del sol with a "SWAP" Does not really fit under any SS, IT, Or T, Classes!

If Soloing is what your looking to do, then Theres really no need to go Such a school!

I say B18C5, a B16A is still a torque less 1.6L. The extra cost will be well worth it.

FYI Bonderaut qualifies you for your SCCA Racing Licence

Upon graduation of the 4 Day Grand Prix Road Racing Course, you will be provided an application and a logbook with endorsement of your racing abilities and your first SCCA race! From there you will need to complete the application, get a complete physical and mail your results to the SCCA.
