clutch maybe tranny problem! need identification
no one really responded to my other post so I will try again:
I have serious probelm with my tranny but now I think its my clutch heres what happened. Saturday night entering the interstate I redlined 2nd and then missed 3rd, I missed it pretty hard. I let the clutch up to soon and I guess was still trying to shift as if it was disengaged. Now shortly after I began to notice it was really hard to go into gears, extremely notchy as a friend told me. Everyone was telling me it was a tranny problem, probaby synchros. However today as I was coming home from acura after getting a tranny flush (which didn't help at all) I was backing in my drive way and I soon as I got it in reverse with the clutch disengaged it was acting as if it was semi-engaged kinda jerking like it wanted to go but couldn't, as I slowly engaged the clutch it just jerked and stalled and was "locked" in reverse. I managed to pull it out of reverse with the car off. Now it goes into all the gears almost with the car off but with it on it doesn't at all really. And the clutch is really hard to push down. It like there is a piece of rubber in between something and you can squish it all the way down but it won't fully disengage. I am sure I am not explaining this right but thats about the best I can do. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I just wanna know what the problem is, cause I don't wanna do something thats not needed....I have been told it could possibly be a thrown bearing...prices would also be nice if you know. Thanks alot!

jeez....lets try to help him
I had a similar problem
I dropped the tranny, my pressure plate was broken. A good 2 inch piece of metal was rattling around the case. Also every one of my springs on the clutch were extremely loose. Also looked like the pressure plate was warped
I got a new clutch, pressure plate, throw out bearing....now i'm 100%

yes I know this, but I was getting no kinda answers really so I decided to try again...and it helped...sorry if it makes u so mad...I saw that another guy didn't no one seemed to make a big deal about it....I personally don't care...I needed information and usually people answer questions but u didn't so I tried reposting with a different topic...
Why does it bother u so much?
Just don't read it then....I don't mind the flaming but there is no need to get hot about it...

Because people are answering this one or were....why does it bother you so much.... Man, all I wanted was an answer, I'm not trying to cause any problems or anything, but you are being kinda immature about the whole thing. And I would have closed the post but I can't soo I deleted it...
So if you don't want to help me or contribute an opinion, why do u continue to post pointless comments

bc by posting a second thread you just bumped somebodys else's thread, which may also have important questions further down or even off the first page...
do you not see a problem with that
so everytime you are not getting an answer or not liking the answers you get in a thread you should create a new one?

Basically I had to shift at like 1,000 rpm in order to not grind the gears
Major PITA
The clutch wasn't disengaging properly....which caused the grinding

I had identical symptoms at 21K miles, it turned out to be a broken pressure plate. I blame it on the teenage stunna who owned my car before me, street riceing, drag riceing stunna punk.
For real, well I guess I'll take this opportunity to go ahead and get a flywheel along with a new clutch. I think i am going to stick the the clutchmasters stage III. Thats what I had and I am pretty satisfied with it. I was gonna move up to the Stage IV but I heard that it was not very streetable especially in a city where you get stuck in a lot of traffic. Is the clutchmasters flywheel a good one to combine with the Stage III, if not, do you have an other suggestions with prices. Thanx
I just did some research. I think I am might go with the 6.5 lb or 6.75 (not sure which it is) Comptech flywheel. Will that be good for daily driving or should I stick with the 7.5 lb Clutchmasters flywheel??

no quesiton your cyn-cer-"o's" are as bad as the driver. If your still learning how to drive maybe you should get a old beater crx and mess that up and save the R for later. The sad thing is when you learn how to drive and yor R is all raged out you will be like damn this car is ******* awesome but now its all fucked up
except I do know how to drive, the person who had it before me was a hardcore racer...went through 3 transmissions that I know of, I dunno about anything else. I have had it for about 4 months maybe 5, and I have a feeling that some of what has happened is slightly due to what he had done. He was a excellent driver, but he ran the car extremely hard and has 3 transmissions to show for it...but yea thanx for you opinion
