probably the good idea. i wouldn't be able to race it immediately but if i've been trying to buy a car so i don't have to risk wrecking the si on track. then eventually i'll have the budget to race it.
Jesse,
I know you needed to replace the Protege (RIP
) but what were you thinking when you bought a stock-class car to compete with?
Paying for a set of Azenis:
Paying for a set of Hoosiers:
Casey, who's happy to play in STS because buying good rubber won't send him to the poor house...

I like STS, but I'm too competitive, and I really didnt feel like driving around a 89 Civic base hatchback with a Si powerplant.
I pull the tires, and i drive home in a nice, soft, quiet (as quiet as straight pipes get
) comfortable car.
Ahh...who am I kidding...i was trying to get girls
I was upset you werent at the Turner event on the 5th. I was up there with the MR2. Overall PAX wins are fun

I just can't make up my mind whether I should just stick to auto-x for another couple years or try to get into club racing sooner.
edit: For the last time, I do not claim to be going faster than a Z06. I'll just say I go to a max speed of 50 mph next time to avoid all this. I just took it as a negative comment, you kinda get used to them when you drive a civic.
Put this in edit so i wouldn't have to add a new post thats still off topic.

2nd PAX was fun for me this last weekend.
Actually, I heard about that. Nice driving. Though there is no way you could have been going faster than a Z06, you know.
Small displacement rules!

Wished I could have been there for the last two Atlanta "snow cone" events, too. Between family, large-scale house projects, work, birthdays, and holidays, December is way too whacky for me to even think about getting to an autocross...
Ryan & Jesse, congrats on your respective PAX finishes - nice job!
Casey, who apologizes to Catch22 for an pure unadulterated hijacking of his thread...

Trust me - and this is not meant as any kind of slam on autoX- but once you hit the big track and experience life at triple digit speeds with another car right off your fender, you'll never want to go back to a parking lot. Trust me, I autocrossed for 6 years before road racing. I might still go help the club at autoX's now and then but for sheer fun it just doesn't do it for me now that I have "been to the big show."
Between this H5 CRX and the Rivergate Accord, or the other CRX that was posted for sale a few months ago that would be perfect for H5 and is ready to hit the track for what, $3600 (?) - How could you not rationalize this much fun for that little money? Hell, it makes me want to buy that Rivergate Accord or the running CRX just to have one of them as an H5 rental, just to keep the class alive!
