Default '88 CRX Si

I have a chance to buy a black '88 Si in fairly good condition... $200. Timing belt broke and there's all SORTS of bent ****.

Question; I have a spare head (D16A6) that is out being worked for my '91 EX. Will the head that is on the car now work on the '88 Si? Or is that just wishful thinking? I really just want to get it running and maybe sell it... but who knows.

I would be interested as well Where are you located?

And to answer your question, I would probably just swap a junkyard engine into it...probably not worth the trouble and $$$ to fix it if that happened to it.

I'm in Richmond VA. I'm starting to think I may want to keep the car... but if I don't, I'll buy it and let somone else have it for whatever I have in it (titles and taxes and all).

The car ran after the belt broke, but then the kid parked it and it won't run anymore.

Is it worth just putting my head on it?

yes they dont wanna let u know bc they wanna get the car and fix it for very cheap and then sell it or else... yes if its a 88 CRX Si, or not even an SI ,. as long u got a EX head or a Si head it will bolt up .... make sure if everything its bent that the pistons didnt get damaged.. if they did u might as well swap a Z6 or Y8 head and get a hold of some LS pistons or something...

Ahh... thanks for the info.

Consider the car bought. If any are interested, lemme know... I'll sell it to an H/Ter for what I have in it... before or after I get it running.

Otherwise I'm going to shoot for $3500 with a rebuilt motor.

I would be interested in the car as well. If it isn't something that you want to keep. I would rather come up there and buy it before a title transfer is made. That way I don't have to pay double taxes and registration.

Nah... I meant sell it for $3500 after I get it running again. I'm sure SOMEONE would buy it.

All right... I'll but it and see what I think about it... I'll get the guy who's selling it to me to leave my part of the title blank so I don't have to worry about titling it to me right away.

You'd be surprised... I sold a '91 CRX Si with a stock D16A6 with I/H/E, wheels, flawless paint and some minor exterior and interior stuff for $7000.

$3500 will be asking. Be happy to take $3200.

'98.

Sold it to a kid with more money than sense... granted, the car looked damn good, but I was asking high and he never even tried to bring the price down.
