You will have to do some wiring. You need to first swap from dpfi to mpfi. Once you do that you can slap a sohc vtec head, a 16z6 head from a 92-95 ex or si or a d16y8 head from a 96-00 ex. They pretty much bolt right on, you just HAVE to remove the oil control jet in your stock block. You just need a paper clip to get it out.

Once you do this you need either a VTEC controller or some thing like the zdyne one wire conversion, around 350 bucks. The head will be 150-200 before machine work, so you should look to spend atleast 500-800 more bucks.

Dissconnect your intake manifold your exaust manifold pull your timing belt off. Take off your valve cover. Unbolt all ten bolts on your head. Then scrap your old gasket off. Take a paper clip and pull the oil jet. If your other gaskets are still good just put some sealant on them and put your new head on. Bolt the ten bolts back as follows take them off the same way

that's right I think then your tourqe them it's the same for the intake except there are only 5 bolts I think I'm not too sure. But tighten them kinda like above then you do that wiring crap which will take you like an hour. All together it's a 4 hour job at the most. Doesn't that seem easy enough?

Oh btw can't you just pull the guts out of a b series DOHC Vtec head like the cams,springs,valves,...etc...And put them in a "DOHC" D16A1 Head. And then wire it up?Or would that not work either?

for minor gains, you could put on a sohc zc or a6 head, its non vtec so you wouldn't have to wire the solenoid and its more of an agressive cam so you'd see some gains, but im not sure how much
