On/Off Swith for Rear License Plate Light....
Anyone thought of this, or done this in the past?
I'm going to find a way to do this.... I plan on putting the switch beside my e-brake, where the foglight switch is.
Any thoughts?

im planning to do it i have all the equipment and all i need is time and to find the wire i have to tap into that runs the plate light and ill have it done
b/c.... sometimes, at night, I dont want my plate to be visible. Actually, its b/c I like having all sorts of buttons on my console
the reason why i want it is because when i go out to coffee shops in the fall and my car is left on the lights on the plates are on no matter what so i hate that people can see the plates when u park in an area where theres not much light and we leave our head lights on and that way i can turn off the lights while there and then turn it on when leaving. its sorta of a little thing but theres another guy i know that wants me to do it for him..
ever hear of punctuation?
also - turning your rear license plate lights off would be IMMEDIATE grounds for getting pulled over by cops. you might forget to turn them back on and then when you're driving, you'd never know. why bother...

they just want the fast getaway option, won't matter if a cop decides to pull ya over he would have run the plates before he pulled ya over. how about the flip flop kit for you rrear liscence plate anyone ever tried this yet?

no, it's just a motor that flips it down.

Those would be hot.
if you ever forget to turn them back on while on the road thats just asking to be pulled over... I wouldn't do this, don't really see a point to.. but I guess its your car and your money...
Its illegal and it WILL get you pulled over. Its a requirement to have your liscence plate visible at all times. Can it be done? sure, easily, but its your risk.

illegal, but at least in MD, it's only a fix-it ticket. well as long as you pull the "oh i'm sorry officer, the bulb must be blown" and don't tell him it's off cause you turned it off
