I always pay attention to my rpms when downshifting. I aint gonna be one of those oops I blew my engine fools. Around town I usually downshift once my revs drop to about 3000-3500. at the track I downshift around 5000-5200.

I will do a 4th--->2nd downshift when I want to have a burst of speed. I usually do this at around 4ooo rpm. And the key is to watch your Rpm's closely, when you do this your rpm's will pinge 76oo-8ooo rpm's depending on when you decided to downshift. When I do this I usually rev match it so it does jerk so hard. But the main this is to watch your rpm's or you will hear a very bad noise and notice your rpms shoot pass the 9k mark..Good luck guys.

you'll be able to go by engine noise once you get better.

it all depends what speed i am going, not what gear i am in... cruising on highway i will drop down to 3rd.. if i am going like 40 i will go to second... all you do is listen to your engine...

I don't understand, The shifting would still be the same w/ the 6 spd, isn't it? Correct me if I am wrong, but straight up and then down is third and fourth, respectively. Fifth is over and up. Sixth is over and down. That is the same pattern as a traditional honda 5spd. Why do all these Type-S owners have so many problems?

make sure you rev-match. lets say your'e going to go from 4th to 2nd, rev-match to 3rd thenagain to 2nd. some people actually put it into 3rd with out letting off the clutch and then putting it into second.

~2000 rpm per gear down (ie. 4th -> 3rd.....3000 -> 5000)
