brake swap parts list confirmation for '91 Civic Si
after much searching, I think I have nailed down all the parts that I will need to do a decent brake swap
on my '91 Civic Si, although I still need confirmation on a couple of small details.
FRONT
EX knuckles, rotors, calipers & pads:
-self explanetory, but I want to make sure that s/s lines for a Civic Si application will match up
to all the correct locations for clips etc., and will fit no problem to the calipers. As well, is there
any difference between 88-91 EX parts?
REAR
'91 CRX Si rear assemblies including trailing arm etc.:
-same as for above; will s/s lines for a '91 CRX Si match up to my existing hard lines at the correct
locations? Any other issues here? I understand that the CRX e-brake cables are too short; will
substituting 90-93 Integra e-brake cables present any problems in fitting, i.e. do they match to all
the retaing clip locations on the CRX arms, and will they match up correctly to my Civic e-brake
actuating assy?
MASTER CYLINDER & PROPORTIONING VALVE
I would like to upgrade to a 7/8" m/c, which I understand came in the EX. Again, does this pose
any fittment problems with the hard lines or anything else? Also, do I need to replace the booster
as well, or will the 7/8" EX m/c fit directly to my existing 13/16" Si booster?
As far as a disc/disc proportioning valve, does this also come from an EX? If so, is it a direct swap?
Thanks to any & all who can fine-tune this list for me. I have searched through 74 hits from the
search function on this site, as well as combed through all the info on the hybrid Honda site, so
I hope this isn't seen as a blatant re-hash of an old topic. I just want to make sure that I don't get
boned with the wrong parts and my car up on jacks in a million pieces!
cheers

i got this info off the hybrid board...
"I used Integra cables on my CRX. They were long, but the ends were right. "
"The 90-91 Civic EX is 15/16 and will bolt up even the lines are the same..." (this is for an 89 civic si, but should be exactly the same for a 91 civic si)

The proportioning valve will not come from the EX. 4g EX did not come with disc brakes. You will need that part from a rear disc SI.
Honda part numbers are different for the EX front brake lines. HTH.
EX MC is a 15/16" not a 7/8" (7/8 is smaller). No need for a booster. Just put on the EX MC and it's a stock replacement done deal.

thanks for the corrections and info guys. They didn't sell EX's up here, so I'm
not all that familiar with them.
cheers and thanks again
