Yes you need a four wire 02 sensor, also this topic was discussed recently use the search button.

2 02 sensors is a remnant of old technology when they only had 1 wire 02 sensors that needed to be really close to the header b/c there was no internal heater to bring them up to temperature. The only reason there are two is b/c they need to be so close to the head that they had to be put on two seperate pipes.

Nothing wrong with running a single 4 wire 02 sensor far from the head. I will personally test it out this coming weekend and find out. Is there anyone else who has tried this.

separately and best to keep as mother honda intended
That's funny dude, well going with that line of thinking I should have just kept that crappy stock engine in there too nevermind all the suspension mods, oh and don't forget I should have also left my 1 inch exhaust piping. Not doing as Honda intended is what I think this forum is all about, think about the first guy that modded his honda when all the fools back in the day said leave it stock as Honda intended.

It makes little sense to install your 4-wire O2 so far from the head. Think about it: where's the most current combustion conditions? Nearest the head possible. If you mount the O2 further away, you're getting older data, as it were, as it takes the exhaust time to flow from the head to the O2. But that being said, the O2 might overheat from being so close to the head and also having the heater engaged... not sure about that one.

Get a ZDyne conversion ECU and run one oxygen sensor with no extra holes poked in your header.

I went with a 4-2-1 since I have a b16a, but if you have a B18C I'd suggest using the 4-1 since you already have plenty of torque. Just make sure you get a skid plate for it since the clearance is so low.

i use a mugen chipped ecu . deletes one o2 and the knock sensor rev limit is 10.5 and the vtec comes on at 4.5 .revised feul and timing maps . i love this thing but can`t use my nos with it. also it grabs a mean 3rd gear. hope it works on my ls/vtec

I'd prefer to keep my 02 sensor. Is it true that the mugen ECU always runs in open loop mode, even on startup. Do you have rough idle when the car is cold, does it behave weird when the car is cold.

have u tested the 10.5 rev limit?

im seriously thinking of getting my ECU chipped, but i have a PWO and my options are a bit more limited
i wanted to have a higher than 9500 rev limit and one 02. i had it dyno tuned and im getting wicked hesitation at part throtte with 1 o2 in there. so ineed to see if its ecu caused or what..

Have you tried Locash racing?
www.locashracing.com

Once a PW0 or PR3 is chipped they basically become the same thing. Locash has great programs for people with engine swaps. They can completely remove the use of all the sensore (knock and o2) or they can leave it ALL functioning. I use their "locash racing program" on my pW0 and it works great. Vtec at 5.2 and cutoff at 9k but there are several other programs and you can tell them what rev limit you would like.

I use my chipped PW0 at the track and my stock PR3 around town. It doesn't make any sense to be sitting in traffic with "advanced fuel mapping"!!

p.s. Any spelling errors are due to hangover.
