need info on putting a d15b2 into my 89 CRX DX
Hi, I am getting an 89 CRX dx with a blown engine, I have a D15b2 sitting in my garage (92-95 civic engine), can anybody tell me what I'll need to do to make this engine work? I don't care if I have to use my same intake manifold. I just need it to run. Thanks!
even if the newer civic did have a newer engine it should all bolt up correctly. In essence its like doing a tranny swap and possibly dpfi to mpfi swap. Everything will just bolt right up
the only thing you will need to change is the drivers side engine mount, tranny and slap your intake manifold and wireing harness on.. I haev a d15b7 in my **** box right now.. 93 cx motor..... untill my turbo motor is done.. easy swap nothing complicated

the d15b7 will bolt in directly, however, things to keep in mind. if youre planning on keeping the the crx non-obd, than you will have to use the COMPLETE intake manifold, wiring, sensors, and distributor from the d15b2 which will bolt directly to the d15b7 block. the d15b7 motor will bolt to your crx dx tranny which i highly recommend because the tranny that came with the d15b7 is hydraulic, not cable.
This is a budget project, so in other words I don't care about performance wise, I just want the car to run and drive. One more question, the 4th gen civic had the front mount on the crossmember, and the 5th gen don't. Do I just leave it off?
umm ru kidding me!@
you have to have the front cross member on...... or else your suspention will just slay around and u wont have radious rods.. you wont make it very far before your wheel hits the wheel well

I thought the 92+ civic's all had mpfi?? if they do, you'll either have to convert your car to mpfi, or the engine to dpfi

Another option would be to keep your current intake manifold and make the D15B7 dpfi. That would be the simplest thing to do.
