Default Intake manfiold swap

Here is the deal I acquired a complete D16a6 intake manifold and exhaust header. I was wanting to know if this would bolt directly up to the motor I have in my HF to let it breath a little easier and give it a lil more passing power on the daily commute. My main concer as it stands at the moment is having the ecu flip over all the incereased flow and I am also unsure if the HF's motor and the D16a6 injectors are the same size which I think could again cause troulbe. If this is not worth the troulbe or not work let me know. I dont plan on doing a full motor swap any time soon howere I came across these parts for free so I was wondering if it would be worth while to do or to just sell them. Thanks for any help any one can provide.

compare the size of the HF runners to the Si ones. you'll gasp! the ECU should be able to handle it, but if you want it to run a little bit better, possibly get an Si ECU (worse gas mileage). the only issue you'll have is the EGR valve, seeing as the Si manifold lacks this. i don't know if the ECU will throw a code w/o it connected.

as for the exhaust manifold, you'll have an issue with the catalytic converter. the HF's mounts directly beneath the exhaust ports, while the Si's mounts underneath the car (in the traditional spot, so you could say). depending on which state you're in (emissions laws), you may have to put a new cat. where the Si's have them if you decide to do the swap. if you have no emissions laws, just bolt the new exhaust manifold up and don't worry about it.

Thanks for the insights, I have been told of the egr vavle on another board. I do not have emissions here in MO so I will proably just let the cat go. I am unsure if I want to swap ecu's I would need to acquire one first and formost but I want to keep the best gas milleage possiable since this car is for my daily commute to work (and auto-x this spring) so maybe an Si ecu will not hurt.

isnt a hf a 8 valve motor? if it is then theyre no point in even doing anything to it. it's the worst d series motor u can have.

I know this its my daily driver I could care less how it runs as long as it runs and gets me from here to their. I plan a B16 swap down the road but I am knee deep in the turbo and swap on my accord at the moment so its on hold untill thats all done and payed for. I acquired these parts for basicly nothing and just wanted to see if it might give it a little extra push for passing on the daily commute since it doesnt enven have enough for that some times. If I wouldnt have got these parts for basicly nothing I wouldnt even waste the time of doing it...

I have a HF beater 89, I just put a SI intake manifold. Got some seroius power from 2-3500 rpm. still redlines at 4500 with a Si ecu. I get 32 - 36 miles to a gallon. I t also sound mean. Might even try putting on the exhaust manifold to see if I get more power, Hf ecu had CEL's and lacked power. I tried switching ecu to get the feel.I found a turbo but where can I get an exhaust manifold to mount to the turbo.

Well I guess I will go look for an Si computer then and depending on what it cost either do this or not. I already have the exhasut header as well so it should pick up that passing power it needs i hope.
