I am thinking about buying a T3/T4 turbo from a friend, i have a question about the Exhaust housing, here is the linkHttp://the.ne.client2.attbi.com/user...o/IMG_1224.JPG My question is what is the hole next to the turbine , to me it would seem thats where the internal waste gate flap would go, but this turbo new from the factory could it possibly be missing somethings? or is there a special down pipe? that hole would only be used for an internal wastegate, you will need to weld that hole shut

 

You don't have to weld it shut, just get a regular 5 bolt flange and it will seal it off.

Thanks for all your responses, i found an answer also at http://www.thedodgegarage.com/hybrid_turbo_install.html , so looks like i either have to fit an internal waste gate, or just block it off, and use an external wastegate on a mani, speaking, anyone know of a cheep mani with external waste gate that will fit a 94 VTEC?

 

I know GReddy makes a nice ex. mani. w/external wastegate port for 35mm wastegates.
