Weld the carb tag off their dc 4-1 header and put it on a JDM
I know this is bad, but has any one welded the carb tag off their dc 4-1 header and welded it on a JDM DC 4-1?? (for visual inspection when pulled over by police) I have both.. thinking about doing it...evil, I know...
use a heat shield
I was on the same wavelength as TypeR 599. I had to read it three times to process the fact that he has a USDM DC 4-1 and a JDM DC 4-1, not a Honda JDM 4-1, or else I woulda said the same thing. Go for it why not. Glad we don't have visual inspection here.

it's shady for sure, but doing anything you can to save yourself from being screwed over by the police is

Using the same logic...anyone could go to a machine shop with the CARB # of a street legal header...have them make you the same little tag...and throw that onto whatever header that you have. Chances are the cop won't run the #, just check to see if it is there.
IF you wanted to get really technical, you could even have the name of the header engraved onto the plate so it matches...or for those of us with Spoon headers, you could put any name on there since the Spoon is totally unmarked.

do you think when taking off the original carb tag... it might be possible to leave 4 holes on the header?? I know u can weld them in... BUT has anyone tried it or no anyone who has??? damn CA!!!
you probaly, actually you would def get away with it if done proper. the po-po aint gonna know the difference. you better get someone that is good at welding b/c welding aluminum is pretty tricky. that header is aluminum right? also im sure you could get it off without putting holes it in. again, just get someone good to do it.
Hope it will help you out if it works, heard from a few guys in Cali that CARB # doesn't even matter anymore. Nazifornia is crackin' down...
