Torque for caliper bolts? Please help!
Got my car up on jacks while putting on my street tires (my Azenis are almost like slicks now, heh) and decided to check the bolts on the rear calipers (the ones you losen to change pads).
When I installed my Hawk HP+ brake pads a few months back I didn't have the correct torque numbers so I just tightened as "best fit" as I could and when I back out on an incline sometimes I hear a loud moan coming from the rear brakes. I'm wondering if I over-tightened them. At least, I don't know what else would be making the noise or if that would affect it. I have a Helms manual for a 1996 Integra but I doubt the settings are the same for the ITR which obviously has bigger brakes.
Can anyone look that up for me while I got this thing up on jacks? Thanks in advance!

holy crap, 36 lbs/ft?
the Helms manual I have for the base Integra says 17 lbs/ft... I figured it'd be more for the ITR brakes, but that's quite a difference. did you get that from a Helms too?

no problem... just didn't want the original poster possibly snapping the bolt off at 36.
great thing about H-T is that everyone wants to help each other out.

oh **** you're kidding me....
I wondered why it was making more noise the evening after I re-torqued... Good thing I just garaged it and have been driving the beater the last 2 days until I had a chance to get it all back up on jacks and re-check everything. Damn dude, I said rear twice and even second guessed you!
sigh... it's nice that people on HT want to help out with peoples questions, but I guess you got to be careful about what sources you trust. Not trying to rag you guy, but man....
on me for not waiting for a second opinion I guess
all the more reason to spend some cash and get a helms.
it'll save you lots of money and headaches in the long run.

that being said, the next time you use the 96 manual for the R it's gonna be wrong! j/k
I have an old 94 helms for a gsr I had back then and I still bought a new helms for the 98 R I have now. Can't be too careful with your baby, you know.
