Default SoCal road course driving in Fontana. Any R's going?

SpeedTrail just opened registration for the road course at California Speedway on January 25-26. Wondering if a couple of the SoCal H-T ITR's wanted to get together and drive this event and hang out during the other sessions. Also if we could get some videos that would be amazingly cool, not sure how far the grandstands are from the road course but I'm sure someone's got a good camera out there to catch some of our track bloopers for everyone's enjoyment.

edit- Registration for the event is at http://www.speedtrialusa.com

Have either of you guys been to the road course at Cali Speedway yet? Interested to know what it's like. I assume it's pretty flat with no elevation changes since it's inside the main oval. It will be my first road course event, can't wait.

its a combination of high and low speed corner. IMO, the most difficult one is the last hair pin corner, since u will be going high speed before that turn.

edited, also get a better brake/pad because u will use lot of brake in that course.

Thanks, yes planning to get some new pads before this event. Perhaps will be attending the Willow Springs event with NASA two weeks after as well. How long does it usually take for you track guys to go through brake pads?

well, it depends on what track. what i mean about better pad refers to pad/brake system that can resist heat fade................not about the life of it..........

Still looking for one huh....same here. Yoshi suggested Simpson World in Torrance. I want to take a trip there just to see what they have and possibly buy one on the spot if it fits and is the right price.

Thanks for the brake tip, the course does look like there would be some heavy braking going on. Better pads will definitely be going on. I guess I'll get to see how much the stock ITR brakes can handle for myself.

I remember SonicBlueTeg recommended Sube Sports in Huntington if you're in OC. I think she got a Bell helmet for like half of what they sell it for at soloracer.com

Funny you mention that. I was just about to post the link for Sube Sports. I'm most likely going to get a Bell helmet from there. The question is, which one? I'm leaning towards the Bell M2. I want something effective that is reasonably priced as well.

responding to mario's post.

why don't you try learning a whole different language. try to speak it and write it without any errors. i have a feeling it will be worst than his grammar for english. you can at least try to help him by correcting it. why do people have to be such ********?

i'm just trying to defend a friend. seems like people are always picking on him about his grammar. you ever thought english is not their first langauge??? stop being so damn closed minded and such a smart ***.

back on topic. here is the layout of the track.

What car were you in and what mods (suspendion and motor) did you have. Its a civic but what kind. Umm how much did you pay for this event . Did you just go or did you have to sign up before. Could anybody else be in the car with you. Do you have to wear helmets. Oh sorry for all the Questions it just looks fun.

Hope to see some of you there. Those that are going we should meet up at Ontario Mills or something beforehand and then roll out.

BOOSTINSI, check http://www.speedtrialusa.com and you can register there. You can also show up at the track and register but it will cost more and it may be full.
