Reprogrammable ecu
Witch ecu should I chose, and what capable are essential to tune the car, fuel setting, ignition timing, VTEC crossover, rpm cut out, are the more things it should do.
I am looking at the AEM EMS, HONDATA, POWER FC AND BUDDY CLUB; are the more manufactures that make such programmable standalone ecu.
I know the HONDATA and the EMS are capable of other functions like launch control and more, but that isn’t essential for me I need to tune for further modifications like cams.
It should be able to hook up with a laptop for easy settings.

I cant se why you both are bother answering this topic if you can’t provide me with some answer, is it only to get high posts? All too many think high posts equals status, that’s silly.
This forum is a gold mine to share knowledge to others but there is so much useless post although.
No soup for both of you…

What are your plans for modifications? Your choice of engine management/tuning device should be influenced by your current and future engine modifcations. It wouldn't make much sense to run a $1500 engine management system to tune a car with I/H/E - at least in terms of performance cost/benefit.
The primary concern is getting an ECU which you have a good tuner for. I don't know if you have any tuning experience or not. If not, you will find it quite hard. I would find a good tuning shop and then do some research on the product they use.
Some of the ECU's are complete replacements while others are piggy-backs/interceptors. There are quite a few threads already on all the ECU's listed in your post. There are differences but ultimately it comes down to how well you can tune your particular one.

Thanks for the replies.
I know that for I/H/E maybe its enough whit a V-AFC but I will be able to build further mod without replacing that again.
My next mod will be TODA B or C and maybe a thinner head gasket to raise compression, and I need something to match that, what tuning will that need, fuel map, VTEC crossover and raised RPM fuel cut out, what more should it do? Retard ignition is that needed and what will I gain from that?

Simple answer: If money is no problem get a motec. You will need a good tuner to make it work for you. Get it tuned after each mod.
Cheaper but decent solution: Get VAFC for I/H/E then when you do cams sell VAFC and buy a motec or hondata.
Stand-alone ECU, ie motec, needs to be approached differently to a bolt-on. For best results you need dyno tuning, road tuning and someone knowledgeable.
You can also contact kenji with your list of mods and he can reprogram your ECU.
Hondata is good as there is plenty of support for it. It may not be the best ecu solution technically but it is well developed, at least in the USA... SGT, you wanna come to Australia???
