Long story short:
61K mile GSR tranny, had recieved 15K MTF changes on time
recieved hard driving, third gear upshift grind began getting progressively
worse over the last 20K to the point where it happens every time.
I have a B16 clutch plate and a LS disk with a bearing from the same with an ITR flywheel. When I swapped my block it was the only thing I had to replace my badly worn ACT. I also installed ES lower bushings in the tranny and lower AC braket when we put the thing back in.
From 36K to 59K I rode on a ACT HD/SS clutch setup with an ITR flywheel.
While I am driving mainly when exiting corners or entering turns at low speed in third gear, the shifter pops out into neutral. Sometimes this happens under acceleration, shortly after having shifted into third from second. The engine revs after that and can be alarming considering the damage that could do if something went wrong.
Can anyone advise based on this why I could be running into this issue? I was considering trying to resolve some of the play in the shifter by installing ES shift bushings, however does anyone have any exp with this?

I had the same problem but in 5th, so I took it back and the guy swapped me an LSD B16 tranny

on this iteration of my tranny dealy-o I may just have the broken parts replaced and/or rebuilt. in my family of parts we have a GSR peice that will be used for a modded tranny my friend is building. chances are, I can hit him up for anything that is failing in mine. for now it is drivable, just not how it wants to be. long story short, I would be happy with getting out of this little mess for under $500. while in there I may change my clutch disk to an Action Kevlar peice with a stock pressure plate/bearing. thank God for available Honda/Master-Tech shadetree mechanics
id want to stay with the GSR peice for the strong diff and beefed up input shaft
if I had the cheese, id go for USDM ITR...
