well, for all you pansy asses out there (who claim they want good highway milage)that swap the GSR 5th in addition to a FD swap, go to the store and buy some vagasil, cream or powder... your choice.

C'mon, now. Search Google for converters.

And then reacquaint yourself with your heritage. It's only been a few years.

Edit: Oh, and by the way: Canadian gallons are bigger than United States gallons.

I think thats some pretty good gas milage, mine goes through gas like water but hearing vtec every 5 seconds would be that cause

38 cigarettes is a lot, here goes a fact----if you stop smoking, and say a pack of cigs cost 3 bux and you smoke a pack a day then you will save 1100 bux in one year

<--- non smoker if you couldnt tell already

Awesome

I wish I would have kept better records of things when I drove from Pittsburgh to SoCal. I averaged 1271.5 miles per day though.

ahhh...
the jdm fd will land you at 4140 rpm @ 70 mph

ats with gsr 5th will land you at 4020 @ 70mph

why didnt you step up to the plate and get a more aggresive fd?

So y'all would really be pissed to learn that Spec B equipped #009 would get 33mpg on the highway

Never really caravan'd with Queef, but it's safe to say that you're a lot harder on her than he was, Robby!

didn't have spare cash at time of the clutch/synchro replacement... FD was just a, "well, **** it... tranny's gonna be on the ground, so may as well" thing. Trust me, i wish i had the extra ~$375 at the time, USDM ITR with ATS is money baby.

Geezus! 38 cigarettes in 12 hours?

You need to smoke something stronger than Camel Lights. Maybe Red Kamels or, my personal choice, Lucky Strikes.

d, what does a failing wheel bearing sound like? i have an annoying squeal coming from my car when the car is cold (mornings or after work) that seems to be related to the wheels; it only occurs over 30mph and goes away once the car is hot. the sound isn't affected when i go to neutral and rev the motor or upon braking. the pitch and frequency changes with the speed of the car. any thoughts?

both my bearings went recently, about two weeks part....one was really loose, so that was an obvious one...the other made a cacophony of noises...on right hand sweepers it sounded just like a failing bearing should, metal on metal spinning noise. It also sounded like crap at slow speed, like a low chirp that was tied in to wheel speed, regardless of brakes or gear. First Radley techs tried to tell me it was my aggressive pads and baked rotors (they are), but i was pretty sure it wasn't....finally got a tech to come out for a while and really listen, he concurred about bearing, now it's fixed. Car has 34k miles, can't imagine what might have fried the bearings

Quick way to check is jack the car up and see if there's any play in the wheel....most bearings won't make noises unless they're under load (i.e. on the ground)

directly dependent on speed, and usually will be affected by steering input, since the load is distributed differently on the inner and outer race of the bearing itself. also check for endplay in the hub.

This will be front wheel bearing #5 for me (ie, 2 from the factory, 2 swapped already), and they've all sounded differently to me.

ah, it must be the wheel bearings then. it is not affected by braking, steering, or motor input. it occurs over 30mph and increases in pitch with speed and is worse when cold. how do i check play in the wheels, just jack it up and shake the wheel? the car ('01) only has 33k miles so acura should warranty this, right?

hmmm, just jacked up the car and shook the wheels hard enough to rock the car and there was no movement/sound from the wheels

So whoever said that ~80 (78mph) with JDM OR ATS would be unbearable and would result in bad gas mileage..... LUBE UP!! As long as you aren't cruising in VTEC... gas mileage rules.

Nice trip D. My list would look similar except: maybe only a few cigarettes and MANY more Mountain Dews.
