Default Hasport or place racing?

ok I'm swapping a B18C1 into my 90 CRX Si and I've read that place racing puts the motor too high and will have to get a custom hood and haspot set's the motor to low and will bottom out if you get a 4-1 header....what I want to know if these are true and which you'd recommend for a mount kit?

Hasport billet mounts rule! Just put a b18a in a friends hatch with them and the motor sits just fine.

Actually they will... ive broken two of them. First i broke the one that bolts to the tranny, then i broke my rear one. They were also the older model ones not the billet mounts. they lasted about a year of alot of racing abuse.
hasport was really cool about it though. i sent them the broken mount and they shipped my new one out over night for no charge at all. the new ones have been cool for about 9 months now

In responce to breaking the hasport mounts, I wrong off my old CRX in a serious front end collision. THE BLOCK BROKE where the mounts bolt in on the back and the mounts came out still in 100% good condition. That was all I needed to see to know that it was HASport for life yo.

I hqve b18c1 in a 91 crx with PR and the engine does hit the hood. I'm pretty sure you will have that problem with just about any mount kit. I"m luckly I have a carbon fiber hood and its a bit flexible. I will need to get a JDM hood to solve all my problems.

I put Hasport in my CRX. It located the motor in perfect spots every where. I got the polyur. mount, expensive and I did not need a front mount.

I too have the billet hasports kit. I like it a lot, but my valve cover rubs on my hood a little. However I would rather have it rub the hood, that sit way low, and jack up my header. Ryan

As I understand it; the Place Racing mounts cant the engine with the top of the motor more forward than the Hasport. However, I don't know of any way to verify this!

I'm thinking of going with the Place Racing due to wanting to add a Jackson supercharger at a latter date and they would give more room. If I was going to run a turbo, then I'd go with the Hasport (more room between the engine and radiator).

The fact that Place has a crossmember with "fourth" mount is an added bonus, but I wonder about additional vibration.

I personally like the look of the Place brackets due their being made out of steel, however the blue color is a real stinker. I asked them about having them powder coated black and they said OK, for an additional $25 per bracket!! (bastards!!)

i cant say which work better, but my in process b16 swap is going to use the haspost mounts...im suprised at how light they are! they are also the bling bling ones...also when we ordered all the parts w/the motor they sent the jdm shift linkage along with the axels and whole wiring harness...so now i have a hasport shift linkage and jdm shift linkage...cool i guess....swap should be done this thurs....

I would probably go Place Racing with this one. The reason? Only Place Racing has a mount for the hydraulic transmission. With the Hasport kit, you MUST use a cable transmission. Hasport has talked about a making a bracket for a hydraulic transmission. But they have basically back-burnered all R&D not associated with K-series motors. SHAME ON THEM!!!!

If Honda of America were to have needed motor mounts made they would be similar to Place Racing's mounts. There is alot of debate one way or another but I can say that on the EF models with B seiries engines that Place Racing is the best.

Not knocking HAsport but if you open the hood of a factory SIR and the hood of an ED with B16 and place racing mounts you will see the motors will be in exactly the same position. They might not be the prettiest mounts but they do there job well.

Yeah it's a bitch for the hood but that's why b16 models come with the hood they do.
That's why I got Place Racing.... Two friends of mine got Hasport and the urethane is either coming out or ripped out and his engine bangs on the firewall...

I'd have to go w/ Hasport. I've just heard way more good things about those than Place. Hasport

Hasports are cool. I broke the rear one. Hasport fixed it for free, but it took 2 weeks to get it back. Now the driver side is jacked do to the rear mount beeing broken, so that means the rear one will break in a couple of months.
