Default Custom Fabricated Header

Would it be cheaper to have my local muffler shop that's doing my piping custom fabricate me a header, or to just buy a used one. I'm looking for a 4-1 for a '94 GSR, and wonder if a 4-1 might be too complicated for the shop to do without charging an arm and a leg. And if it would be cheaper, could someone please supply with diameter dimensions? And on a similar topic, will 2.5" piping fit a stock GSR cat, or will I need a new one? Thanks

Definately go with a properly designed header. Piping diameter, length, merges, clearance etc are all very important to creating a well designed header that will work properly with the exhaust pulses from your engine.

also keep in mind MOST company's that make headers designe at least 3 prototypes and produce the one that test's best.

A one off header has much less of a chance at beeing better although it is POSSIBLE.

I'd say "much less of a chance of beeing as good", its not going to be better.
