aaarg annoying idle HELP PLEASE

alright, i've got a ZC.
i constantly get code 14 (sometimes it affects the motor, other times not).
well i finally got rid of the code for today, i reset the ecu, and now the idle fluctuates 500rpm (usually 750-1250). it's annoying. it always does this every time i reset the ecu, but usually will go away after i shut the car off and start it a couple times (like if i have a few errands to run.)
but this time it's still fluctuating. dosen't affect the engine when under load.
what do you guys think it is?

Code 14 is the idle air control valve (IACV). Obviously, it controls your idle. This could explain why your idle fluctuates. If the electrical connections are solid, you might have a defective IACV.

yeah the wire connections are sloppy, but the best i can do at the moment. usually it shows the code when the wires touch the alternator though. i don't know much about electricity, but it'll idle SUPER low when the code flashes, and i'll take the wires away from the alternator, and the idle instantly rises to normal.
but why would it idle this way (up and down) AFTER the ecu has been reset with NO CODES showing??

My ZC did the same thing that yours is doing now. I adjusted the Flat Head screw that faces the passanger side of the car, Its located on your TB, then reset the ECU. This corrected the problem for me.

ZCs are so freakin wierd.
so i haven't got code 14 in a while.
and my idle stopped fluctuating, BUT now at idle, it registers at 0rpm. as if the car weren't on.
i'll try fiddling with the idle screw. i had actually though of that earlier, as in maybe it fell out, hence the fluctuation, but i forgot about it...
thanks for the responce
