Getting it for the thinner, lighter, tinted glass and no wiper. Shop quoted me 350 with the wing on it. I was just wondering how much others have shelled out for it.

Can't you just plug your wiper and take out the motor??? That sounds more economical to me.

 

i did that but the rubber grommet looks bulky and not smooth like the jdm hatch.

 

I can't understand why you'd replace the entire hatch because of the 'look' of plugging the wiper. Oh well.

it's lighter. besides i have skrilla to waste since my pops came back from China for Christmas. I know you guys are going to tell me to spend it on suspension or power mods, but I want to learn how to drive my car to the max in it's stock form before I add more power. Too many people hop up the suspension and motor before they know how to drive and spend more time in the rocks and dirt then on the track.

Hence why my suspension is stock, and why I have only done bolt on power mods. Since I'm keeping this forever, I want to do all the other mods first. I know this might not make sense to you or fit what you would do first, but this is what I have decided.

 

If you don't want to mod and learn to drive the R first (yay for you! ), just put them money in the bank or towards bills, or something like that. But if you must buy the hatch, that seems like a good price, painted.

 

I am not a big fan of spending money on crazy JDM Stuff, but it is your money and car. So do what you like and I hope it works out.

 

well i wouldn't call it crazy money, since i can sell the wing for 150, and sell my old hatch for like 150. so i guess i'm not losing out much and I just realized I answered my own question. So thanks everyone for the help and advice.

 

For $350, I'd buy it. I like the fact that it has the thinner glass and the lack of a rear wiper. I just bought the wiper plug from Acura to replace my wiper b/c I never used it.

i got mine for $150 with a wing, $350 is just a waste of money.
As for the tint on there, you can't even tell a difference. If you want to save wait, lose 5 pounds, cause that's about all you'll shave off with a jdm hatch.

Ok i dont get why everyone is bashing him for wanting the hatch. $350 is not much money at all. I would buy it, because like you said, you can always sell the stuff thats on their now...

 

 

I'm not bashing him for getting it, I'm just saying that the price is steep and it's not a very worthwhile mod for that price. If you can find it cheaper then go for it, it's super easy to make your money back by selling the wing and/or your stock hatch.
Shops try to jack people out of their money by selling jdm stuff at outrageous prices.

 

Watch out for the COPS, you will not have a Third Brake light, and that also might be a saftey issue too.
