To get inline Pro head gasket or not?
Well im getitng ready to do the turbo in about 2 weeksm but i dunno what i wanna do
I dont knwo if i wanna get the headgasket to lower the compression and be able to boost it higher?
Or just leave the compression the way it is until i have money to do the internals and just boost less?
what would you guys do and consider a safer/ more power yielding step?
If i do the internals they [prob wont get done for about a year or so. this damn turbo set up got me going broke , gotta pay off some bills before i pump any more money into the car

I'm not a big fan of thicker headgaskets simply because to me it seems like you are increasing the weak surface area on the inside of the cylinders between the head and the block and at the same time trying to raise your cylinder pressure with the turbo. A better investment IMO is a block guard, but let some of the bigger boostheads give their opinion, too.

My firned had an old race engineering one and said he had to modify it like a **** to get it to fit.

I ran a stock motor with a custom turbo setup on it with an STR blockgaurd that I didn't have really any problems putting in for about 24K miles and the only reason it stopped is that the car was stolen.
does the inlinePro gasket cost around 350?! id get a cometic if i was you for that price. definately block guard it..not a nuformz but a golden eagle or ac autotecninc, or str...try to get the ones like the tangs on the ge sleeves! id weld that sucker in to so its not shiftn arnd and moving. ur cr isnt really that high, regardless of what anyone says, i rather tune it then lower the cr. i think ull be happier w/ a higher cr and less boost. JUST IMHO.

well ertial on thme is $299, but i get them cheaper as a dealer of course.

i was thinking of tuning for 8psi for the street and 10 psi for the track
I have a hondata 4b, so i should be able to do a bad asstune job on it with help of a good tuner .

I've had a blockguard for a year with no cooling probs. Boost is 5.5psi daily, 8psi hi boost. I've accidentally boosted to 14psi 6-7 times and nothing happened, thankfully. I say forget the headgasket and save up for your internals, but I don't know how hard you are on your car daily either. BTW, were you the one that got sent that prelude turbo kit? Did you get it sold?
na i got sent the GSR piping from Vaprotrial . I gfot my moeny back and sening him the piping back .

It used to be. I've found the faster my car gets, the nicer i treat it because when it breaks now, it BREAKS (for example my current melted endyne rollerwave pistons). Not to mention, you learn you don't have to prove anything any more becuase you KNOW you are faster then pretty much any other ricer that pulls up next to you.

Get the headgasket...I've been running 10 psi now on the inlinepro headgasket for 4 months now with no problems at all. Sometimes I even run 14 psi for fun and nothing happens. It's all in the tuning bro. If you tune it right, you will have no problems. BTW my fuel setup is msd inline, walbro 255lph hp, 450cc, 4:1 fmu and vafc to lean out the fuel.
yea you will definately have no problems if you can get it tuned correctly. I recall people running 20-22 lbs on race gas with the headgasket and camgears only with stock headstuds and 11-12 lbs on the street!
thats why i just told ya not to get a nuformz! the ge, ac auto technic ..they all have tangs i believe to allow the coolant to pass...U wont overheat. if u do get a nufromz, get a machine shop to try to cut the slits to match coolant passages in the head. weld it in and boost away batman. id get a cometic if ud want to lower cr, fawk spendn anywhere over 200 for a HG!!!! think clearly, if cometic makes inlinePRO's gasket, dont ya think u could get cometic to make u a similar gasket for probably under a 100 bux?
yea but with the shiity cast type R pistons? im just worried about making some goos safe hp . i wouod love to make at least 300 or so on stock internals amybe a few more

knowa couple people running high 10's low 11's with stock blocks and a hedgasket
Part of the fit I'm sure has to do alot with the condition of the block. I'm sure they all fit perfect in a brand new block. My str required a little bit of adjustment, but definitely not a whole lote and I have been satisfied it even though it is a bit redundant since I'm sleeved as well.
