I think a better question would have been, "what tire to get?" The Kumho 712 is a great tire... if you get it in a 40 or 45 series. You're probably not going to like 'em. Oh well, they're cheap.

I would definately get 205/50/15 over 195/55/15. They give you close to an extra inch in contact patch and they are within a few mm of being the same over all diameter as the stockers. They also give you a little curb protection. Look alot more agressive also IMO. Here is a pic of 205/50/15 Bridgestone S-03s on my car:

You can kinda see how much the stick out past the lip in this pic. BTW, sorry bout the big pic. I need to resize it but Im lazy.

No, they don't. The 205 and 195 denote the section width at the widest point of the tire (the sidewall bulge), not the tread width. Now, what the number actually is, is the measurement in millimeters. 205mm is 1cm wider than 195. There are 2.54cm in an inch, so 1cm is 0.39" 0.39" isn't even close th 1.0". You may notice a difference in this, but when it comes down to it, tire construction should play a bigger part in your decision than having that extra 0.39" width.

I hear ya about the Holiday season... Don't get me wrong- they're fine tires. But if you're looking for a performance tire, they're not it. But hey, for the price, ya can't beat that!
