Default intake manifold spacer/gasket.....

we all know that hondata makes a thin plastic gasket to reduce the intake manifold temprature to help increase power and such. i came across this product which is similar but instead of only being 1/8" thick it's 3/8" thick! it's also made from Phenolic which is supposedly a good heat insulator and can hold up to extreme tempratures? and it also comes with extended studs and nuts to help make it a bolt on peice.

more information can be found here: http://www.defcon-racing.com/phenolicspacer.html

has anyone ever seen something like this before? what do you guys think of it?

cool...but im still skeptical about a piece like this and if they actually work. I have yet the chance to try one for myself.

I have yet to see Back to back dyno Testing on either this or the Hondata Gasket!

Can some one prove me wrong, and Prove it is worthy?

I emailed them a long while back. It's pretty pricey...although no bad considering the power gain you get.

I know that the Hondata gasket lowers the temp of the intake manifold a fair amount...that's worth it for me.

Back to back meaning repeatability or power gains?

Would it work with aftermarket Intake Manifolds?

As long as your aftermarket manifold has the same bolt pattern as the head and gasket you are using, it will work fine...

With the thich phenolic block, you are most likely going to have to replace the head studs for longer ones or swap out for bolts similar to the Hondata gasket...

Phenolic blocks have been around for ages to help with air intake. I see power gains from using this part...

Bigger bolts are not needed for the Hondata gasket, that is unless your manifold is thicker than the standard Honda manifold...
