It finally happened...
It seems as though I now have a direct reason for hating thieves. As I came outside at work, Ukrops, a local grocery store, taking groceries for a lady to her car I saw my Type R over in her normal parking spot. As the lady was parked near me I walked over to check on the R. From a distance I noticed the gas filler door was open, which seemed to be odd as it hadn't been when I parked the car. After looking that over, all the while still walking to the car, I noticed the hood was popped. That when the feeling that something may have happened to my car came over me. I got a terrible feeling in my stomach and knew something had happened. I now ran over to the car only to see that my passenger side window had been broen and was laying on the asphalt next to the car, ****.
I took a quick glance in the car and saw that my rear seats were folded down as well as my drivers seat, and my bass tube had been stolen. I then ran into the store told my boss what had happened and called the police. Little help they were. The officer merely unenthusatically took my report over the phone and said that's all they do with vandalism. I would have hoped for a cop to atleast come out and look at the car. Glad to know the police are always there for ya
I then went back outside after calling my dad and was just pissed opff about the whole deal.
To the best of my knowledge there had to be atleast 2 people. One person pulled back on the passenger side glass and unlocked the door with a long screwdriver of sorts, as you could see marks opn the trim piece around the lock button, and after unlocking the car the other guy opened my driver's side door and popped the hood, while the first guy pulled the negative off my battery, thus cutting off my alarm. Then one of the guys pulled the gas filler door lever, assuming it would pop the trunk. All the while the other guy attempted to start the car. The ignition is screwed as I can';t get the key in it, it's all chewed up, as they must have tried to start it with something.
After my step dad arrives at the store we call AAA and get a tow truck, but ofcourse the way the car was parked, with a curb 10 feet infront of it he couldn't get the car on the truck as we couldn't get the wheels to move because the steering wheel was locked and we couldn't get the key in the ignition. After waiting another hour we see another flatbed tow truck. Great he probably can't help either. WRONG. This guy was great, he definitely knew what he was doing. He pulled the front of his truck onto the curb and backed the truck down. HE got the car home, without damagin the front lip spoiler, and I tapped up the window and put the car cover on.
And now here I am. I've still got studying to do and have school at 7:25 tomorrow morning. I'm still pissed, I've read about this **** on the forum for like 2 years and was always so thankful it hadn't happened to me. Though I'm still pissed and distrought, I can't help but be thankful that they didn't steal it, or hurt the car in any way buit the window/ignition/bass tube. It could have been much worse. Haven't called insurance yet, as I have a $500 deductable and aren't sure how much it's gonna cost. Anyone wanna through out estimates of a new OEM Honda window, which will need to be tinted, and have the ignition replaced. Also how about the price for just parts, I can do it myself If I need to. I just needed to get this out to people who can empathize with me. The feeling I got when I figured out from a far that someone had tampered with my car, something I had worked for since I was 14, and still work for now. I can't help but thinking how it'd odd that I do all I can to keep her in great shape aka I'm super ****, I was avoiding puddles on the way to work. I haven't even driven it in over a week and a half because of rain and snow. Anyway sorry for the long post, my dad's coming over tomorrow and we're gonna decide what we're gonna do. Off to bed, Ryan
Summary:
Type R 98-0324 broken into
Passenger side window broken, bass tube stolen, igniton screwed up
I hate thieves and will never understand why some anyone would takle someone else's possesions.
It could have been A LOT worse.
New layered security devies will most likely implimented, though I know if someone really wants it they'll get it.
Later, Ryan

I'm sorry to hear what happened.
When I read these stories, I wish I could lock up the car in the garage, work from home, and never EVER park it anywhere but the track, gas station or my garage. When do theives get what's coming to them? Seems like most get away and only few get caught.

After thinking about it a little more, since you saw the negative battery terminal off when you got out there, they probably screwed themselves. Trying to crank the ignition with no battery =
Consider yourself lucky and thank the chesterfield county school system for being substandard and educating these thieves

Where was this in VA? I thought I was safer now that I am no longer in NY, but I guess VA has its share of scum bags too........

Sorry to hear that.... Most of us know how you feel... but it all kinda comes with the territory of owning one of these cars..... I felt the same way you did when I had my GSR broken into.. it just didn't feel the same anymore... but it all comes together again though... just give it time...
And to the dumbf*cks that did that to your car... I hope they all rot in hell... those filthy bastards.....
Once again... We feel you...

Thanks a lot guys. Everyone at school couldn't belive it, my friends know how much I love my car and they were all really supportive. Thanks to this great rain out today I'll probably wait until tomorrow to take a good look at the car. Gotta determine if we're going to call the insurance company and make a claim. I thought about finger prints but the war had frost on it which is now melted so I'm thinking that won't do a whole lot of good now. Fuel cut offs will probably be going in soon, so if you guys have any information about them please email me at AcuraRcB@comcast.net Also does anyone have some information on a hood lock?
John- After coming to my senses while waiting for the tow truck, I remebered how you had told me how you never had any trouble with your "come look at me yellow" R and thought about how lucky you were and am. I wish I knew who did it because they'd get quite the pounding from a large group of guys. I think I'm going to put up a flyer at Ukrops, Stony Point, asking if anyo9ne saw anything going on, and pout a picture of the car on the flyer. You never know, someone had to have sen something.
After having some time passed I realized that she'll soon be put back together as good as new, but I'm still pissed for knowing that people do ignorant stuff like this. Thanks for all of your thoughts.

Just FYI, you must report the incident to the insurance company within 24 hours. Even if you don't want to claim the insurance, they still require you to inform them. I hope you insurance company is not a bitch, or they could tell you that you have to take care of it yourself. Sorry about your R.
<-------emblems popped after two weeks, along with screwdriver marks requiring me to repaint the front bumper and trunk
-keyed quarter panel, never fixed
-about 15-20 door dings *sigh*
I realized that the car could not be kept perfect after two weeks of owning it
