Default Audiobahn...BS?

Hey, i'm in the market for a new system and reall have no spending limit (thank god for good credit). I went to my local wanna be audio store and the guy was all about audiobahn. Well, I really don't know anyhting about car audio. So tell me if this is a good system

2 12" AudioBahn Subs with a 500watt audiobahn amp. 4 6.5" pioneer mid-range speakers, and a 4 channel audiobahn amp to push those.

How does all that sound? Is audiobahn any good? If not, what doyou all think is the best company for quality and performance out there today? Thank you all in advance.

Looking for quality? Don't look at audiobahn. I used to have 3 15" ultra excursions and two of the larger audiobahn amps, overall it hit quite hard but the quality of sound was very low, and then one of the amps blew out on me.

Everyone here will tell you to get JL Subs and Diamond for mids/highs, expecially if you have no set limit for what you want to spend.

What type of JL subs should I get. I was thinking about getting 2 12" subs, but i'll let you all tell me what's best. Also, I was wondering what is the best type of box to get? Ported? Sealed? I mostly listen to hard hitting rap..some techno.

if you wanna try to break your windows,
get a JL 13W7 (1000 watts rms) and the JL 1000/1 monoblock amp
for bass.
i would go for a sealed box. doesn't take up as much room..and the
bass is more hard and precise IMO.
ported enclosures are a tad louder, but the bass quality isn't as good
as with the sealed enclosure...atleast from all the systems that i've heard.
and i listen to rap/hip hop mostly too.

otherwise i would suggest a JL audio 10W7 (500 watts rms) with the
JL 500/1 monoblock amp. that's what i'm getting..since i have a 2 door
integra (small cabin, don't need too much bass, plus small alternator)
some guy at beachautosound.com told me they installed a JL 12W7
(750 watts rms) and a JL 1000/1 amp and it was too much bass for
his little mitsu eclipse hatchback.

you might also try http://www.caraudioforum.com for opinions about sound
systems. buncha guru's on there.

oh yah i had two 12 inch audiobahn aluminum woofers but i sold them
because when i asked around and researched i heard some bad stuff
like the sound quality isn't so great and something about the poor
construction of the woofer causing things to go wrong with them.

i got em because back then i didn't know **** about sound systems
and my friend was sponsored by them and got their **** dirt cheap
since he was in a car crew. that guy who is "all about audiobahn"
could just be a authorized dealer for audiobahn stuff.
or maybe audiobahn is all he really knows.

audiobahn is alright...lots of bang for the buck. if you want it loud and dont care about quality all that much, then its a decent choice...just don't push em.

i just sold my two 12" audiobahns and i'm going with a single infinity kappa perfect 12 (that has a peak almost double both the audiobahns combined )

that is a very good combination, but thats a lot of power on the bass, do you plan on throwing a lot of power and quality to your mids and highs? remember that in the hearing spectrum (20 hz-20,000 hz) your subs only cover from 20 hz up to maybe 150-200 hz depending on your box and how you cross them over. the rest of it is covered by your mids and highs and, if you go that far, a mid bass driver. there are different forms of "loud". if you are just looking for SPL (sound pressure level) or bass then I would go with the combintion recomended above. but if you want all around sound, spend a little more on mids and highs for good imaging, soundstaging and balance to your system. best of luck to you !!

Yea, that's what i'm trying to do. I want an all around good sounding system, but with a little bump to it also... I am thinking about adding 2 tweeters. Is that enough? I have no idea about tweeters, what are some good ones?

Thank you all for the help so far.
