It will bolt right in... all of the external mounting points on the 1.5 / 1.6 are the same. the only thing that won't be a direct plug and play is the wiring changes from DPFI to MPFI.

I would say do it yourself not a complicated swap and maybe you'll learn something doing it also. All it basically is is taking out a motor and putting in pretty much the same motor the only thing you have to do is figure out wiring which isnt very hard its like 4 wires off of the ECU. So I would save the $300 for aftermarket parts......

yes you can, in fact you have to use the DX axles unless you want to change the hubs over to Si style.

Si and DX hubs are the same the only ones that are different are standard and the HF's..... so the axles are the same between the Si's and DX's

the Cutches are also the same the only time when they would be different is with either a 4 speed or trying to use an 88 in 89-91 or using a 89-91 in a 88. 88 have a different spline count then the rest of the years so there not interchangeable.

simple solution is to use the corresponding disc. pressure plate makes no difference. however si disc's are slightly larger in diameter than dx and std.

resistor box is on the drivers side of the engine bay by the firewall. look for a silver box with fins like a heatsink thats a little smaller than a pack of cigarettes. I've seen them go from $5-$30

No the DX one wont work with the Si motor the Si distr. has a cylinder sensor in it which you need for the injectors.

how many wires does it have? the dx and si dizzys look the same on the outside, in fact, the cap, rotor, coil, and ignitor are interchangable. the diference is the cylinder pos. sensor as mentioned above, which means the si dizzy has 2 extra wires on it.
