Has anyone other than me had some probs. with the Z6 using oil??? It's not only when were on the track, its also in normal everyday driving ( some few redline hits ). The consumption is abut 1 liter pr. 1300KM. I use 10-40 semi synt. oil. and have used it on all my cars but never hab problems....
what could be wrong????

any smoke coming out of the exhaust? no leaks?

 

Most of the D16's that I have seen had problems with the oil pan gaskets. How many miles are on the motor?

 

I'm having the same problem. But, I'm just chalking it up to needing new rings. How many KM are on your Civ?

 

there's no leak, and the motor are now at 160.000km... I have thought abught new rings, or new Pistons.. performance pistons.. any suggestions???

I think I am going to need new rings too!?!? 90k miles, w/ a tiny puff of smoke between shifts. I dunno, I'll see monday when I get my compression checked. If I do, fuggit I'll get a b16. If not, Greddy kit.

 

Anyone got a guestimate on ring prices? I heard it was a big job too...

if your gonna do rings, you might as well go all the way and get a full rebuild.
Block and Head. maybe 1500-3000 depending on the shops where you live.
