Default 10 psi+- go with 3" exhaust?

well im doing a custom turbo kit on a d16a6 motor, i will be pushing about 10 street and about 15-18 on track. im wondering if i should go
2.5 downpipe with 3" exhaust or
3" down pipe 3" exhaust???
this will be on a 91 hatch, i hear different things about 3" like i will loose low end, but boosting 10psi+ i would think 3" would be great.

thanks for your opinions

well if you run 3" throughout you will spool up alot faster than if you do 2.5" downpipe to 3" exhaust

If you have a GReddy or anything with an internal wastegate, I would say go with the 2.5" dp and 3" exhaust or you will have a uncontrollably boost creep.

External WG, go with the 3" all the way.

i think it is a internal wastegate, why would i get boost creep if i have 3" over 2.5"?
how much power loss would i se going 2.5" vs 3" DP? especially at 15 psi

i keep hearing different thinks, some say i wont have boost creep some say i will, i dont think 2.5" is enought for 12 psi+, but i dont want my **** to creep and blow up

Yea, rule of thumb is internal wastegates will boost creep. If you do get the 3" dp, and it does creep, then you can try and get your wastegate ported to see if that helps. But honestly I don't think you will lose much if any power going with a 2.5" dp. A 2.5" dp should allow enough flow on a D series. FYI: vtccivic had a 2.5"dp and a 3" exhaust on his GReddy setup.

yea but will 2.5" dp be enough for 15 psi?

what causes it to boost creep? any idea?
