Default I Need an honest opinion.

Which in would be a better pick:
Mugen S1 Seat
or
Spoon Kevlar Seat

I would like to know because I will be buying one soon but I am not sure which one. Please give me advice on these two only.

No i don't want to find a smaller seat b/c i think those are fine. i need to leave some room to grow. I started working out and usually gain weight, and those seats are not that much bigger than what i need

You must be tiny. I am a small guy and the Mugen S1 fits great.

I have never sat in the spoon but I really really liked the Mugen seat!

You could probably get 2 Mugens for the price of the spoon. Well, maybe 1.5 I like the Mugen better however.

I would go with the recaros coz they are much more comfortable than the mugen and spoon.

VS

The Mugen is 5.8 kg "per rail" - is that 5.8 total or 5.8 x 2?? = 11.6 kg

The Spoon is 5.7 kg total.

I would go with the lighter one.

OMP makes nice Carbon, Carbon/Kevlar and fiberglass FIA homologated seats at a good price.

go for something that is FIA approved. I had the Spoons in my car, freakin unbearable for normal driving.
I switched to Sparco Evo 2's. The detachable padding really makes everything more comfortable, and they have an FIA approval to boot.

I went from GSR leather ->Recaro SRD (USDM) ->S1

most comfortable seat i've sat in. less padding, but i love the seat I can drive long distances with no problem

I am not into racing but on occasion, have gone to track events.

-aoib0t, who loves his S1.

make sure you sit in the seat you are going to purchase before hand. you don't want to waste your time and money having to go through as many pairs of seats as me. I am on my third pair of seats.

so what happens in a rollover situation?

I am curious because I am not sure what happens with a mugen or spoon.

I am not sure what is required for FIA approval or why spoon or mugen did not choose to get it approved. $$$?
