Pistons broke in half... Please help, need your ideas and suggestions!!!!!
This is my setup. Stock B16 with stage 2 Revhard with intercooler in a 92 Civic. My engine was takin apart and found out the pistons were broken, I guess they snapped. The mechanic who took it apart said it broke because there was too much cylinder pressure and running to lean. Even if we replace the pistons they will always break. Is this true? What if I put in low compression pistons? I have the vortech fmu, bigger fuel pump and stock injectors (that came with the kit). What do you guys? I need all the help I can get!!!!!

1)Replace pistons
2)hone the block
(It's more involved then that, I'm just being lazy)
3) TURN DOWN THE BOOST!
You should be running only 7-8 psi on a stock ecu.
4) Get Hondata to cure all your problems.

Your mechanic is correct. At the minimum you need to bore the block and install forged pistons or the same thing will happen. You also need to insure no more lean conditions when boosting.
What is the best way to make my fuel rich? Vafc? I have no one here for tuning with hondata. Thanks.

I am constantly and consistently AMAZED! with all you people boosting on stock injectors. this just seems idiotic to me when you can get dsm's 60 bills.

ohh yea how many pounds where you running?

Yes it is idiotic to boost more than 7psi on stock injectors..but not for low boost levels
Stock injectors can handle a little more then 7psi from my personal experience. I have boost a car up to 10psi on stock injectors BUT it had the proper fuel management. The car had Hondata and running 10psi on stock injectors. The injectors weren't maxing out. Fuel pressure was set at 38psi. Again this was with proper fuel management. I wouldnt suggest doing this with a bone stock ecu though.

Care to explain why only 7psi and not 8psi on stock injectos and stock ecu ? I want to hear this.

It's really not relative to boost at all. If you are making 300hp at 5psi then stock injectors aren't big enough. If you are making 250 at 12psi. then they are fine, except for the fact that your fuel pressure is ridiculously high. It takes a certain amount of fuel to make power, not a certain amount to make boost.
My gauge showed 9 psi...
