Give any thought to going to the hardware store, buying some thin sheet metal and using a dremel to do it the we-todd way? I bet you could come up with something pretty decent by yourself

I might think about that but I'm not too confident in myself

They also sell aluminum at home depot. I made a heatshield for a turbo out of it. Pretty easy to cut and stuff. Cut make one out of cardboard first and trace it onto the aluminum.

Ok, semi-ot question. What happens when you put a torch to some sheetmetal like that?

True but will it block off air flow?

I would do yours like n1's and for airflow use ducting coming from the front to the resonator area.

Rule #1 - No we-todd-did-nc's around your heatshield

Ehhh... Correct me if I'm wrong, but if you're getting this complex with ducting air to a short ram, why not just get a CAI?

I agree. If you make a completely sealed box and put pvc duct dow into the fender area... ...... isn't that just an icebox with a fat cf arm?

I think i'm oging to make a heatshield as a project this winter during the break for the J's as well. I just have to get the damn thing first so I know what i'm dealing with....

I guess its just owner preference. Some people don't wanna risk getting water into their CAI. I would say the ducting is up to the owner also. Its not really that complex.

Hey, that's my car!! It works very good as long as you put a piece of dryer hose underneath the filter that guides the air from bumper opening to filter. Disadvantage is that your filter will get very dirty.....
