Default JDM swap in wife's 93 accord...help, advice,ect.!

OK I'm a bit new to the import thing. So bare with me. OK...my wife has a 1993 Accord 2-door coupe. We are considering to "upgrade" and put more power and speed in this car. I heard a H22 engine will swap just fine. I would like to swap a engine from a 99 Prelude-S w/ a sport shift. Wife's car is an automatic b/c she can't drive a stick. We also plan to turbocharge it also.

So my question is...Will the 99 Prelude-S (H22) V-Tec engine and sport shift automatic transmisson fit in the 93 Accord? Or do I have to be stuck with the 93's automatic trans?

I also is the F22 (S2000 engine I think) the same as a H22 just with differant internal parts; If so what are the "changes"?

Any companies out there that "soop-up" Honda automatics for high performance and drag racing? I would like to put a higher stall converter on this engine too.

LAST QUESTION.... I can't find any companies that make intercooled turbo kits for a H22, Anyone know of any companies that do this?

Thanx!

why turbo that motor? your motor in the 93 is good for turbo. save your cash keep the engine you got.

The F22 and H22 are two different motors with different internals and different heads. The F22 is a SOHC while the H22 are DOHC, not to confuse you but you can also get the F22 in a DOHC from Japan but it's not as comon as the SOHC.

I've heard of a couple companies that build up auto trans but can only think of one, Level10. There is someone else that has an automatic Accord that was talking about going with some other company but can't think of it.

I believe DRAG and FMAX both make turbo kits for the H22.

It's not much but it's a start to what you're looking for.

Dude if you wanna go turbo then just stay with the stock F22 depending on the kit you use you may gain up to 80-90 hourses. but if you wanna go all motor then go the way of H22 . and with some after market parts you'll be getting up to 100 more horses. the way i've heard the h22 tranny fits in the f22 mounts
and to your last question yes there re companies that make intercooled turbos for h22 just go on the net or here on the forum and run a search
good luck

KEEP YOUR AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION AND HOOK IT UP TO THE H22 ENGINE, SOME PEOPLE KEEP THE ACCORD TRANNY CAUSE IT HAS LONGER GEAR RATIOS. ALSO, H22 ENGINES ALSO COME WITH AUTOMATIC TRANNY. SPORT SHIFT WILL COST EXTRA AND WILL REQUIRE MORE MODS BUT WILL FIT IF YOU GOT THE $.

I also is the F22 (S2000 engine I think) the same as a H22 just with differant internal parts; If so what are the "changes"?

F22 = ACCORD ENGINE (THE SAME ONE YOU HAVE RIGHT NOW IS SOHC NON-VTEC)
H22 = PRELUDE ENGINE DOHC VTEC
EACH HAVE DIFFERENT INTERNAL WORK BUT H22 WILL DROP RIGHT IN AND BOLT UP

Any companies out there that "soop-up" Honda automatics for high performance and drag racing? I would like to put a higher stall converter on this engine too.

NOT MANY COMPANIES DO MUCH HIGH PERFORMANCE AUTOMATICS. HOWEVER, YOU COULD GET A COMPANY TO BUILD AN MOTOR FOR YOU..... REQUIRES LOTSA $$$$ THOUGH

LAST QUESTION.... I can't find any companies that make intercooled turbo kits for a H22, Anyone know of any companies that do this?

THERE ARE PLENTY, LOOK AROUND, MIGHT ALSO WANT TO MAKE SURE IT'S FOR A HYBRID ACCORD SINCE THE PIPING WILL BE DIFFERENT THAT ON A PRELUDE.

Thanx!

YEP.....

my car 92 accord has an automatic h22 i used the accord tranny. i recommend using an prelude auto tranny because the gear ratios in the accord tranny are long and you will have trouble staying in vtech.but if you are going to keep the accord tranny i suggeswt a vafc so you can control vtech ingagement.......
