Default Clutch cable- OEM or aftermarket?

My cable is squeaky and the pedal effort seems high compared to most other cars I drive. So I'm shopping for a new one and I want to know if it is worth more money to get an OEM cable or are aftermarket cables basically the same? What should I be expecting to spend?

OEM, can't beat the quality. Also, I don't think anyone makes an aftermarket one.

Did you try adjusting the cable to your preference? You can adjust the tension on the cable itself. Check the cable connection on the tranny and it can be adjusted by turning the "adjustment wheel".

So, anywhere I find one it is an OEM cable? I looked online and found them anywhere from $27-$40. They are all the same cable, just different prices?

The adjustment just changes the takeup point, yes? I don't really need to do that. I'm just trying to get rid of the squeak and hopefully soften the pedal somewhat.

The squeek is comming from the release bearing , not the cable. The Honda clutch cable is the beat you can get, Get one for a 90 Integra if you have a b16 or a 90CRX Si.

and as far as "softening" it up, thats most likely 100% dependent on what style pressure plate you have as well as how much wear it has. i think as clutches wear out, the pedal becomes harder to push if i remember correctly
