Vortec fmu, Raise psi at idle????????????
Is the vortec fmu supposed to raise ur fuel pressure while at idle??? I just put my FMU on my car, and it went from 44psi with the stock regulator, to 58psi when i put on the FMU. I tried disconnecting the vaccumn hose from the fmu, but that didnt change the pressure. I did take off the top of the fmu (6 screws), and noticed when i put it back on the harder i bolted down the screws the fuel pressure went up even higher. Now somehow i got it backed down to like 50psi. What is going on here? I thought it was only supposed to raise the pressure under boost? Oh and by the way, the turbo isnt even on the car, so there is no way it is pushing any boost. Please help me on this one
yeah it adds fuel when you dip into boost as in if you have a 12:1 disk in then for every 1lb of boost it will raise it 12lbs of fuel pressure. i would try checking all the connections again, then do a search and see if anyone else had the problem.
i had the same exact problem
ended up that somehow my FPR went bad
go replace it and i bet the pressure will go back to normal
