how can you tell if your fuel pump is going out?
my car runs fine till my air/fuel gauge reads lean and when it does it run like ****. could this be my fuel pump is going out? i dont think the gauage is bad b/c when it reads rich it run straight. any ideas?
if you really have a turbo gsr, then your fuel pressure rise is adjusted wrongly/or you dont have one. explain your setup.
plus your stock fuel pump isnt really strong enough to support boost. im running a stock in-tank along with an rc engineering in-line up front. i run about 130 lbs of fuel pressure when im running up to 22 pounds of boost. but im just guessing at your setup, so reply and ill help you.
What kinda A/F meter do you have??? Something like a Autometer??? I really wouldn't trust it too much... They can give you a rough estimate but nothing like a wideband will tell you... I guess it could be a fuel pump problem... The only way i know to test a fuel pump is just to measure the pressure... If it checks out good then the pump is fine.... I don't know why your car would be running all fucked up tho... Latez

ok thats your problem. you need a rising rate regulator. one that sits at about 43 psi at 0 boost, then raises fuel pressure about 6 psi per pound of boost. my rising regulator is custom made, but the vortech fmu is really good too. when you see it lean out ( i bet it just drops off the map) its because its got a whole lot of air, and not enough fuel to stay stochiometric. plus you really want to stay to the rich side of stoch. the power loss you are feeling is your engine detonating. im guessing that power is lost between 5000-6800 rpm, then it probably kicks back in, right? but thats your problem: you need a vortech fmu ( fuel management unit). good luck. fuel curves for turbo hondas are a biatch!
also - are you running ngk bkr7e plugs? if not i would run those, too.

why get a fmu when i have the hondata? and i doesnt run bad all the time. its just when the cars been running for a while the gauage slowly goes to to lean and then the car run like ****. i thought the hondata eliminates having a fmu?
drove my car last night and it did it again. i was driving for about 40 mins on the freeway and it was going good till i see my air/fuel gauage start droping to lean and the car starts to run funny. i was told that i need a fmu but im running a hondata which i thought it eliminates the fmu. any other ideas?
