Default Old schoolers - ID this header

All i know about it is that its for a d16a6 and is probably from the early to mid 90s. Im thinking like Lightspeed and those kind of brands.

TIA

No its definitely before those brands time (I think), they have only made headers for a few years. Im 99.9% sure its from at least 95 or later.

I almost said Lightspeed when I first saw that pic. But I remember someone gave me one for D16A6 (never used it, burried somewhere in storage right now). It was Tri-Y/4-2-1 also, but I recall it being a one piece tho.

The Jackson Racing ones from that time were also one piece. I'm talking the ones from late 80's early 90's.

Maybe its a newer Jackson one, they moved to the DC style 2 piece later on. But I believe the studs to fasten the primary/secondary flanges had them screwed into the primary side. And cleaner welds...

There were a couple smaller honda "tuners" at that time, "CRE" or something and another one can't remember right now...

Cool thats a step in the right direction. Im leaning towards a more reputable tuning company because the header seems to be designed very well, the welds are clean and the flanges are beefy and also have clean welds.

Keep the guesses/information coming!!

I'm pretty sure the jackson's never had one pipe in front of the other like that(scratch that, I know they weren't). A freind of mine has one of the two peice jackson's on his car now, I'll try to find out for sure. It looks like a smaller production header though, definately not a big name.

the domestic brand names mentioned above liek pacesetter, chikara, etc all came later in the scene.

the choices if it were from the early 90's are Lightspeed, DC Sports/Fabrication, Jackson, and another brand that had started with a letter S or sumthign like that. I forget the name. The latter was very popular too. if someone can remember that name.. jus curious what it was.
but as far as this header, I would guess Lightspeed.

the lightspeed headers were ceramic coated so i doubt they would rust up like that...they could be a Genie header design from japan..........not sure.

i beg to differ i had a pace setter and a dc sports orderd for me at the sametime i compaired the too .... they had xcatly the same flow pattern and the pace setter had better welds on it than the dc sports also i noticed the dc sports can turn a yellowish orangeish color around the flange my pace setter didnt it was ceramic coted and i feel looked andwas a better quality for half the price

It could be a pacesetter, but honestly this thing is a good 10+ years old and the welds are still in perfect shape, I dont think for the price that the pacesetter headers are offered at that the welds would last this long.

As for that hedder design it looks to me its not efficent. Number 1 and 4 cil's look like they have horrable flow im not all about the kinks either far better than stock though

it does not look like its going to fit from a A6 iinto the regular exhsust piping....
look at the location of the header into the head and the location of the collector its too far to the left... looks almost its going under the tranny....

It does, it came off of a 90 Si hatchback. I agree that the header does have a very strange design to it, thats part of the mystique of finding out who designed and built it.

I'm quite surprised here, I bought a pace setter cat back two year ago, it was a pile of crap, it rusted in 1 month, sound like crap, flow like crap, finaly that was crap. But I never own a pacesetter header, I thought they where made with the same " quality" as the cat back !!

see ya

I seem to remember Brospeed or Bosal making a header that looked like that. It's definately not a Lightspeed. I had a lightspeed and it looked like the standard DC style ones.
