Wideband O2 sensor question
I've researched the Techedge DIY and it seems like a good cheap alternative, however the stock O2 sensor from from a VX is needed.. is there anyway I can run a simple test on a VX O2 sensor to see if it is going to be accurate if I get a used one? thanks.
also is anyone offering to put the kit together for a price? or is it better just to get the prebuilt? thanks..

i have a old VX sensor with a lot of miles with my techedge unit. i ran into the same problem...i calibrated the sensor with the techedge controller to a free air Vout of 4.0V. however, the resistor i used was way out of range. this leads me to believe that the old sensor isnt working correctly and i need to buy a new one. the usual Rcal value for the L1HI sensor are from 2 k ohms to 30k ohms if u wanna try calibrating it. or u should try asking over here

hmm.. so people are actually using old sensors and having good luck with them? I didn't get the TE prebuilt kit yet... but how easy is it to calibrate to an old sensor? thanks.. the sensor I need is the one directly from the dealer correct? thanks man

its not hard to calculate, all u need is:
-techedge unit
-resistors, available from radio shack. i think they are 1/4 watt.
-voltmeter
-and lots of TIME

i've been told that they have an average life of 100,000 miles anyways so i would recommend saving youself the trouble and just buying a new one for less than $130 unless you get a used one for free or something. just my opinion though.

I got one out of a civic with 130K miles and also had one from a f.a.s.t setup. The fast one was new, with maybe 150 miles on it. The old one was within .1 of the new one. YMMV
I just want to make ABSOLUTE sure.. the HX also uses a wideband correct? I know it's an OBD-II but I don't know if that somehoe changes things.
Also, all new Civic's are VTEC-E also, anybody know if 2K1+ Civic's are all running widebands?
