Finally got my wheels back (pics)
Well I finally got my wheels back. I received my silver Rays Gramlights in 16x7 a couple weeks ago. The next day I took them to a local company that does powdercoating where they were stripped of the stickers and finish. From there I took them to a local polisher to have the lip polished. After they finished the lip, I took them back to have them powdercoated. The color turned out a little lighter than what I expected but I am happy with it. The pics dont really show it but the finish has a metallic sparkle to it. I have to take them back to the polisher tomorrow and he is gonna do some touch up work but I will have the tires mounted and install everything towards this weekend. Here are the pics. Let me know what you think. BTW, sorry for the crappy background, I just snapped some quick pics. Ill have better shots of everything this weekend.
Top down shot
Good shot to show the size of the lip and contour of the wheel. The lip is about 1 inch wide.
Straight on shot.
Enjoy

looks good, but I think they would have looked even better in a bronze or gunmetal. just like the colors that the volk TE-37's come in

nice, but like the other guy replied, i think it would've looked even better if it was a few shades darker, but still nice.....how much did u get it done for? cuz if i had those wheels, i can do the same thing w/ jus spraypaint...it would even be the same quality too (jus the time & dedication thats require) but of course if u got the loot to do that to a new set of wheels thats a
what a teaser.... Wheres the car??

Ill have pics of them on the car towards this weekend along with everything in the above pic installed. Gotta repaint my calipers black again also. The jack@ss at he local tire place scratched the paint all up on them when the mouned my last tires. I have to study for finals and the polisher guy is gonna do a little touch up work before then anyways.
Difference between powdercoating them and spraypainting them is the durabillity. Powercoating is very durable. It will withstand rock chips, road salt, and pretty much anything else that you can throw at it. Thats the main reason I went with powdercoating over painting.
couldn't you have volk make a special color for you for an extra $30-$40 per rim? the wait is about 3 months though...maybe you just wanted them ASAP. nice wheels
those look really good...
over the winter, i'm gonna have my shitstreams painted a dark silver with a polished lip... i hope they turn out some-what like yours.

wow, they came out really nice... honestly though, on an EBP civic, i think you should have just polished the lip and just clearcoated the spokes and left them silver.. they look great either way though
